Meroon

Capitol: Thorndike

Half swamps and a quarter mountains: though the country is large most of it is inhospitable. A lot of farmland in the good parts, though, and as such its denizens are of a simple and hardy lot. The mountains also host a wealth of metals and precious gems – the only real problem is how to get them out. Small caravans pass through the mountains, and can trade for some small amount of goods, but cannot bear the weight of a truly wealthy haul. The unique gems from these mountains, then, are quite rare and valuable.

Meroon is only a minor player in global politics. Its government is based on a feudal system, where most of the land is own by a small handful of folks but worked by the majority of the citizens. Those fortunate enough to be born in a family of rank are considered to be chosen by the gods as superior.
